A big deal in Morocco: the Festival International de la Gastronomie, October 27-30, 2011. Background: for five years now, Les Etoiles de Mougins has taken place in late summer just outside Cannes in picturesque Mougins (where Picasso spent the last years of his life). “Show cooking” with top French chefs like Sébastien Chambru of Le Moulin de Mougins is a chief delight at this event. Now it’s hitting the road, and coming up is the first edition elsewhere – at the Tahiti Beach Club in Casablanca, with Chambru in attendance. The Moroccan daily l’Economiste stresses that because a main objective is promoting fine French cuisine, activities are planned “for all budgets”
