In the anticipation (or utter revulsion) of the release of Sonic 4 Episode 1, fans are treated to a step back in time to the glory days when Sonic didn't talk in a horrible voice, or convoluted stories erased themselves.

Instead of downloading this game when it comes out, this reviewer decided to step back further in time, to the fruition of Sonic and his personality. But the time stepped back into on this adventure, was decidedly British.

A New Venture

Back in the early 90s, in some instances, before Sonic 2 even came out, there was a continuity war going on. Japan had the official continuity, stating Sonic was a hero that defended Earth from Dr. Eggman and his robot minions. When it was localized for American audiences, Sonic became the defender of an alien world called Mobius, and he and his Freedom Fighter pals fought the tyranny of Dr. Robotnik.
